Common Things to Search For
- Violent crime rate by state (last 10 years)
- Property crime trends by city/county
- Homicide trends over time
- Hate crime incidents by state
- Agency reporting coverage (who reports, who doesn't)
Good to Know
- Not every agency reports every year (gaps happen)
- Some data is delayed (you may not see the newest year yet)
- "Rates" vs "counts" can change the story — check which you're viewing
- Definitions and reporting standards can vary (especially across older years)
